Can we use our own domain and branding?
Yes. Every institution gets a portal carrying its own name, logo and colours. Starter and Pro run on a scholarium subdomain such as yourcollege.scholarium.ng; Business plans run on your own domain, for example portal.yourcollege.edu.ng. We send you the exact DNS records to add — usually one CNAME — and verify propagation with you before go-live.
Do we need an in-house IT team?
No. Scholarium is hosted, monitored, updated and backed up by Twenty97. There is nothing to install and no server for you to maintain. Most colleges run it with a registrar, a bursar, and one staff member holding administrator access to manage roles.
How does our existing data get in?
Send us your student lists as CSV or Excel — whatever columns you already keep. We map them to Scholarium fields, run a staging import for you to check against your own files, then confirm the live migration. Historical results and fee balances can be brought over in the same pass. Migration is included, not a paid add-on.
Which payment gateways are supported?
Paystack, Flutterwave and Monipoint. Students pay by card, bank transfer or USSD depending on the gateway, and settlement goes to your institution’s own account — we never hold your fees. Every payment posts to the student ledger with a receipt, and the bursar can reconcile gateway settlement against invoices at any time.
What happens to our data if something fails?
Records are encrypted with AES-256 at rest and in transit. Backups are taken daily, encrypted, and stored separately from the live system, with point-in-time restore. Retention runs from five years on Starter up to twenty years on Business for archival student records, and we can restore a single record or the whole institution.
Can we leave and take our records with us?
Yes. You can export students, fees, results and transcripts as CSV or Excel at any time from inside the portal, and we will produce a full archive export on request if you close the account.
How long does setup take?
A typical college is live within a week: portal branding and programmes on day one, data migration checked over the next few days, staff walkthrough before your intake opens. The two-month free trial starts when your portal goes live, not when you sign up.
What happens if we go over our plan's student cap?
We’ll reach out before you hit the ceiling and help you move to the next tier. There’s no service interruption, and the new rate applies from your next billing cycle.
What happens to our data if we cancel?
You keep full access through the end of your current billing period. Export everything as CSV or Excel any time before then, or request a full archive and we’ll send it within 30 days of cancellation.
